Posted on Wednesday January 8 2014, by Tim Whitaker

The international Zhaga Consortium has signed a liaison agreement with Guangdong Solid State Lighting Industry Innovation Center (GSC), a China-based industry organization.

Based in Foshan City in Guangdong Province, GSC is a non-profit organization founded jointly by the province’s scientific research institutions, listed companies and leading enterprises in the semiconductor lighting industry. GSC is sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province, with participation from related state departments.

GSC initiates the development of specifications for LED optical component systems and creates standards for LED products.

Zhaga and GSC desire to make the lighting industry aware of the benefits that can brought by the compatibility and interchangeability of LED light sources and related products.

As part of the liaison, each organization will provide the other with updates of its activities and progress, and each will keep its members informed of this ongoing work.

Zhaga has formed a number of liaisons with different organizations, with the intention of building stronger links with the lighting industry in different regions, and keeping these groups informed of Zhaga’s progress.
