Book 5 certification now available from Zhaga

Posted on Tuesday November 12 2013, by Tim Whitaker

The Zhaga Consortium has started certification for products designed according to Zhaga Interface Specification Book 5.

Zhaga has authorized three test laboratories – Dekra, UL and VDE – to issue test reports for Book 5. See www.zhagastandard.org/specifications/certification.html for more details of these test labs.

Certification is now available for all the approved Zhaga Books (numbers 2 to 8).

Certification allows products to carry the Zhaga logo, and ensures that all the requirements of the particular Zhaga interface specification have been met. Zhaga certified products are listed on the Zhaga website at: www.zhagastandard.org/products/certified-products.html.

Book 5 defines the interfaces of an LED light engine that comprises a socketable LED module with separate electronic control gear.

Book 5 is currently under revision, and a new version (Edition 1.2) will be published soon for use by Zhaga members. The next step will be to make the full specification available to the entire lighting industry.
