Dee Denteneer has succeeded Musa Unmehopa as Secretary General of the Zhaga Consortium, a global alliance that is standardizing LED components.

The Zhaga Consortium is pleased to announce the appointment of Dee Denteneer as its new Secretary General. Dee replaces Musa Unmehopa, who has held the post for the last two years.

Dee will represent Zhaga at the Light+Building tradeshow in Frankfurt, Germany, which runs from March 13-18. Visitors are invited to meet Dee at the Zhaga booth (A15, Hall 4.2).

Dee has a background in wireless connectivity, lighting, project and program management, and finance. He has held positions at the University of Utrecht, the Statistical Office of the Netherlands, and Philips Research, and he has a PhD in mathematics. Currently, he is Director of Standards at Philips Lighting in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, focusing on strategy and governance in industry alliances.

“It is my pleasure and an honor to be appointed to this challenging position of Secretary General, serving the leading companies in the lighting industry around the globe,” said Dee Denteneer. “I plan to follow up on the strategic directions set under Musa’s leadership, and address the industry need for smart lighting and standardized LED components.”

Alongside his position in Zhaga, Dee is a member of the Executive Team, Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee of the ZigBee Alliance, is Technical Working Group Chair of the Fairhair Alliance, and is a board member of the Philips Pension Fund.

Musa Unmehopa has left Zhaga to take the role of program manager for Wireless Applications in the Standards & Regulations department at Philips Lighting.

“As Secretary General, Musa has supported the further development of Zhaga as a highly-effective alliance. Due to Musa's work and leadership, hundreds of companies around the globe are working directly together to create interface specifications for LED light engines,” said Jan Denneman, chair of the General Assembly of Zhaga.

“It has been a distinct privilege and honor to serve Zhaga and to help the organization in achieving its important mission and strategic objectives,” said Musa Unmehopa. “Under Dee’s capable leadership, I am fully convinced that Zhaga will continue to make its mark on the LED lighting industry and achieve many new successes.”
